Saudi tools and calculators

GOSI and net salary, end of service, iqama renewal cost, exit and re-entry, VAT and ZATCA e-invoicing, vehicle inspection and registration, rent rules, IBAN and the national short address. Each one names the authority to check it against.

  • End-of-Service Calculator — Estimate the Saudi end-of-service gratuity (mukāfaʾat nihāyat al-khidma): half a month per year for the first five years and a full month per year thereafter, adjusted for resignation vs contract end. Based on Labour Law Articles 84–85, informational only — not legal advice. Runs in your browser.
  • IBAN Validator — Validate an IBAN (ISO 7064 mod-97), enforce the Saudi SA + 22-digit format, group it in fours and identify the bank — in your browser, never sent anywhere.
  • Saudi Phone Formatter — Clean up and check Saudi phone numbers. Paste one in any shape — with or without +966, the leading zero, spaces or Arabic-Indic digits — and get the E.164, national and international forms, mobile or landline, the area, and a WhatsApp link. Bulk mode validates a whole list.
  • Weather — A clean forecast for any Saudi city or your own location: current conditions, the next 24 hours, the week ahead with Hijri dates, UV, and the dust and PM10 reading that matters here — plus the temperature at each prayer time. Prayer times are worked out on your device.
  • Iqama & ID Expiry — Track when your documents run out. Enter an expiry in either the Hijri or Gregorian calendar and see the days remaining in both, sorted by whichever runs out first — iqama, passport, driving licence, istimara, insurance or a visa. Everything stays in this browser.
  • Saudi Plate Converter — Convert a Saudi vehicle plate between its Arabic and Latin halves. Only 17 Arabic letters appear on plates and each maps to one fixed Latin character (ح is J, م is Z), and the letters run in the opposite order on the Arabic side — so type a plate in either script, in either order, with Arabic or Western digits, and get both halves back exactly as they appear.
  • Short Address Checker — Check a Saudi National Address short code — four letters then four digits, like RRRD2929 — before you put it on a shipment. It catches the ways that goes wrong (digits typed first, a space in the middle, a zero read as an O, Arabic-Indic numerals) and explains what each part means. Format only: only Saudi Post can turn a code into a street.
  • Invoice QR Reader — Photograph a receipt, or paste its QR text, and read what the invoice says: the seller, their VAT registration number, when it was issued, the total and the VAT. It also checks the arithmetic — a standard-rated sale whose VAT is not 15% of the pre-VAT amount is worth a second look. Everything happens on your device. It reads the invoice; it does not verify the signature, which needs ZATCA own certificates.
  • GOSI & Net Salary — Work out your real GOSI deduction and your take-home pay. Contributions are charged on basic salary plus housing allowance only — not transport, phone, commission or bonus — and stop at SAR 45,000 a month, which is why "just take 10% of your salary" is wrong for anyone with allowances. It also knows there are two systems: anyone registered before 3 July 2024 stays on the old rates, while the newer scheme rises half a point every July. A non-Saudi employee has nothing deducted at all.
  • Do I Need to Register for VAT? — Find out whether VAT registration is mandatory, optional, or not required — on the test ZATCA actually applies rather than the one people assume. It is any twelve consecutive months, not your calendar year, so the clock may have started months before you noticed; and expecting to cross in the year ahead makes registration due now. Exempt supplies do not count towards the threshold while zero-rated ones do. When you have crossed, it shows the month it happened and the date you have to register by.
  • Fahes & Istimara Due Dates — Work out when your periodic inspection and your vehicle registration are due — and, the part people find out at the counter, which one has to happen first. A valid Fahes is required to renew the istimara, so an overdue inspection blocks the renewal outright. A new private car is exempt from inspection for three years from first registration, which means the first one falls due on an anniversary nobody has a reminder for. Every date is shown in both Gregorian and Hijri.
  • Rent Increase & Renewal Rules — Whether your rent can legally be increased, and the date you have to give notice by. Increases inside Riyadh’s urban boundary are frozen for five years from 25 September 2025 — but an escalation clause in a contract already in place on that date still stands, so two tenants in the same building can get different answers depending on which side of one day their signature falls. Separately, and everywhere in the Kingdom, a lease renews itself automatically unless one party gives the other 60 days’ notice.
  • Early Loan Settlement — Work out what it costs to settle a personal finance early, and what that saves you against carrying on. The rule is the opposite of what most people assume: settling early does not mean paying the rest of the term cost. You pay the outstanding balance plus the term cost for the three months following repayment, worked out on a declining balance, and the rest of the term is waived. The three months is a ceiling set by SAMA, not a fee the lender chooses.
  • Leave, Overtime & Notice — Your annual leave, what overtime is worth, and how much notice either side has to give — the entitlements that apply while you are still working. Three of them are routinely got wrong: leave steps from 21 days to 30 after five continuous years with the same employer, and the tool tells you the date; notice is 30 days if you resign but 60 if your employer ends it; and overtime is capped at 720 hours a year, a cap that exists to protect you rather than to limit what you can be paid for.
  • Exit & Re-entry Visa Fee — Work out the fee for the trip you are actually taking, and see the two things that catch people out. Months are charged in whole 30-day blocks, so 31 days costs the same as 60 while 61 costs a month more — the tool shows how many days you have before the price steps again. And the visa cannot outrun your iqama: a trip that returns after it expires is no visa at all until you renew. Extending from abroad costs double per month.
  • Which E-Invoicing Wave Am I In? — Find which ZATCA e-invoicing wave your business falls into and by when it must be integrated with Fatoora. Two things about the rule catch people out: the threshold is met if ANY ONE of 2022, 2023 or 2024 crossed it, so a good 2022 followed by two quiet years still counts; and a bigger business has an EARLIER deadline, because the waves started at SAR 3 billion and step down. ZATCA notifies each taxpayer directly at least six months ahead, and that letter is the official trigger.
  • Iqama Renewal Cost — Work out what renewing an iqama costs, and see the fee people forget. The iqama itself is 650 SAR a year; the dependent fee is 400 SAR per person per MONTH, collected up front for the whole period — so a spouse and two children for a year is 14,400 SAR due in one payment, and the iqama fee is the small part of the bill. Renewing quarterly splits the same yearly cost into four payments rather than reducing it. And the monthly work permit levy is your employer’s: Article 40 of the Labour Law forbids charging it to the worker.
  • Electricity Bill Estimate — Work out roughly what a month of electricity costs, with the breakdown that shows where it came from — units at each rate, the meter service charge and VAT. It also corrects the thing almost everyone gets wrong: the tariff is marginal, not a cliff. The first 6,000 kWh are charged at 18 halalas however much you use in total, and only the units above that cost 30, so crossing the threshold adds a few riyals rather than repricing the whole bill.
  • Weighted Admission Score — Your weighted admission percentage from high school, Qudurat and Tahsili — at whatever weighting the university actually uses. The formula is exact and only the weights differ between universities and programmes, so they are yours to set, with the common ones ready to pick. It shows the same three scores under every common weighting, and works out where your remaining points really are: at 30/30/40 a point of Tahsili is worth a third more than a point of school.
